By using SafeLane, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are a parent or guardian creating accounts for children, you accept these terms on their behalf.

2. Description of Service

SafeLane is an AI-powered educational assistant that helps students learn through hints and scaffolding rather than direct answers. The service includes:

  • AI chat for homework help
  • Project organization and study materials
  • Homework receipts for parent review
  • Family AI agreements

3. Account Requirements

  • You must be 18+ to create a parent account
  • Child accounts must be created by a parent/guardian
  • You are responsible for maintaining account security
  • One person per account; no account sharing

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use SafeLane to cheat or plagiarize
  • Attempt to extract direct answers by circumventing hint mode
  • Share inappropriate, harmful, or illegal content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or abuse the AI system
  • Use the service for any non-educational commercial purpose

5. AI-Generated Content

SafeLane uses multiple AI models to generate educational responses. While we strive for accuracy:

  • AI responses may contain errors
  • Responses are educational aids, not authoritative sources
  • Students should verify important information with teachers/textbooks
  • We are not responsible for grades or academic outcomes

6. Subscriptions and Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly
  • You can cancel anytime; access continues until period end
  • No refunds for partial months
  • Prices may change with 30 days notice

7. Content Ownership

  • You retain ownership of content you provide (questions, uploaded materials)
  • We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our service
  • AI-generated responses are provided for your personal educational use

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through settings.

9. Limitation of Liability

SafeLane is provided "as is." We are not liable for:

  • Academic outcomes or grades
  • Service interruptions
  • Errors in AI responses
  • Indirect or consequential damages

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
